Thanks for this post. This rendition and the rendition of "Officer Krupke" in both the stage production and the film versions of 'West Side Story" are great, and funny, to boot, because it has a streak of black comedy, plus it produces satire of Krupke and other cops, generally.

I honestly feel, however, that the order of "Officer Krupke" in the film version was much more appropriate than the order of "Offier Krupke" in the stage version, if one gets the drift.
