By Andrew Gans

Additional casting has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's July 14 and 19 concert presentations of Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's West Side Story, featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

Newly announced for the evenings are Mike Schwitter as Big Deal, Erica Dorfler as Consuela, Jose Moreno Brooks as Chino and three-time Tony nominee Kevin Chamberlain (Dirty Blonde, Seussical, The Addams Family) as Schrank/Doc/Krupke.

These actors will join the previously reported Solea Pfeiffer as Maria, Jeremy Jordan as Tony, Karen Olivo as Anita, George Akram as Bernardo, Matthew James Thomas as Riff, Drew Foster as Action, Kyle Selig as Baby John, Anthony Chatmon II as A-rab, Jennifer Sanchez as Rosalia, Brit West as Francisca, Julia Bullock as A Girl and Jeff Smith as Diesel. (Several of the actors appeared in the 2009 Broadway revival of the musical, including Olivo, who received a Tony for her performance.)

The concerts will also feature the Los Angeles Master Chorale under the artistic direction of Grant Gershon. David Saint is the book director.

Show time both evenings is 8 PM.

West Side Story has music by Bernstein, lyrics by Sondheim and a book by Laurents. The original production featured the choreography of Jerome Robbins, who conceived the project by using Romeo and Juliet as inspiration.
