I'm looking forward to seeing West Side Story tomorrow night!
I'm happy that West Side Story will be on TCM tomorrow night! Sure, it's just on TV, but I'm also looking forward to the Boston Symphony Orchestra/West Side Story (movie) concert this July, at Tanglewood, which I'll be attending. I've already bought my ticket, made my room reservation for that night after the WSS/Boston Symphony Orchestra concert, and I'm looking forward to this special event!

West Side Story on TCM; Not the same as seeing it in a movie theatre, but wonderful, nonetheless:
Last night, I watched the movie "West Side Story" on TCM (The Turner Classic Movie station), on TV. While it's not the same as seeing this great classic film on a great big, wide screen, in a real movie theatre with the lights down low, and a whole bunch of other people to share the experience with, West Side Story is still a great film all around, which I never, ever get tired of watching!

Yes, I watched part of it myself and it's always a joy.

I watched the entire airing of the film West Side Story on TCM the other night. It's as great and as much of a joy to watch as ever.

One thing I've got to admit, however: I can never, ever watch only part of a film like West Side Story. For me, WSS is a movie that must be watched all the way through, from the very beginning to the very end, or it feels as if something extremely important is missing from it, if one gets the drift.

The film version is going to be playing in a number of Cinemark Cinemas here in the United States on Wednesday, March 13th, 2013, including the one out in Hadley, MA, which is a 2-3 hour drive from Boston, at least. I'd be only too happy to drive out there for the screening of West Side Story if it wasn't for the fact that it's happening in mid-March, when it's so bloody unpredictable, weatherwise, if one gets the drift.

I think that some of the older classic films such as West Side Story are starting to come back into multiplex movie theatres, on digital, of course. That, imho, is a great sign! It's about time that happened.

Well....
Not only did I actually drive out to Hadley, MA from Boston to see the Cinemark Cinemas screening of the film West Side Story this past March, but I also saw it at the Brattle Theatre, in Cambridge, MA, with a couple of friends, and attended the July 13th Tanglewood Boston Symphony Orchestra/West Side Story (film) concert, as well.

Sing ho for West Side Story! While West Side Story's enjoyable on TV, it's so much better to see this great classic film on a great big, wide movie theatre screen, in a real movie theatre, with the lights down low, sharing the whole experience with a bunch of other people, whether one knows them or not.

I LOVE this film, folks!
